CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR THE MEMBERS OF ITS SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is an independent advisory body of the European Union (EU) based in Vienna, Austria. FRA is the EU’s specialised expert body tasked with providing the EU institutions and the EU Member States with evidence based advice in the area of fundamental rights.

The Committee is composed of 11 independent persons highly qualified in the field of fundamental rights. It is mandated to guarantee the scientific quality of FRA’s work across the full spectrum of fundamental rights. The term of the new Committee starts in June 2018 and ends in June 2023. The deadline for applications: 07.07.2017 at 13:00 Vienna Local Time

The Scientific Committee is a body of human rights experts that oversees the work of FRA as the EU’s human rights institution. Members of former Committees, many of them university professors, came from different disciplines and have held high level positions, including being the Vice-President of the European Court for Human Rights, Chairpersons of National Human Rights Institutions, UN Special Rapporteurs, Members of international monitoring Committees and the like.
